Sam Heyman is a Nashville, TN-based writer, editor, and educator with a knack for telling stories that are frequently personal, often queer, and always original.

Sam studied creative writing and queer studies at Denison University, specializing in fiction and playwriting, before being released into the world as an aspiring educator.


Over the past decade and change, Sam has made a name for himself as an educator, a new play development professional, and a professional writer, earning numerous publications, productions, and invitations to retreats and conferences such as the Sewanee Writers Conference, the Lambda Literary Writers Retreat for Emerging LGBTQ Voices, the Valdez Theatre Conference, the Desert Playwrights Retreat, and the Midwest Dramatists Conference, among others.
