Here’s a little about me…

Sam Heyman (he/they) is a queer, Jewish playwright, author, and educator based in Nashville, TN. Sam was born and raised in Nashville, though he’s had a few stints in the midwest along the way (Denison University grad!). They came to writing through fiction and comics, and found playwriting in college, falling head over heels in love with writing for the stage. When he isn’t writing, Sam produces the Playwrights Thriving Reading Series, teaches playwriting courses for The Porch Writers Collective, and exchanges dramaturgical support with friends and colleagues.

Sam’s work has been published in Hashtag Queer, Ordinary Space, Typehouse, CBR.com, Literature Today, Mini Plays Magazine, Meeple Mountain and Smith and Kraus’ Best Stage Monologues and Best Ten Minute Plays anthologies, among other publications.
